The sunshine is here! For our garden that means many weeds and an opportunity to plant warm weather yummies. All last week we spent time tidying up our garden. We pulled out last season's plants and fortified our soil to prepare for our spring planting!

Fava Beans Anyone?
YUM!
Lots of excitement in the "Fava Forest." It's like digging for buried treasure!
Who's hiding behind that favastache?
Greens, Greens, Greens,
A Blackberry creek student helps harvest some leaves to make a salad.
In our Laurel Creek beds we had some pruning happening, so our chard plant can go to seed. Hopefully we can collect those seeds and use them for a new chard plant next year!

What Can We Compost?
How do we know? Well to figure out that very conundrum we took a compost quiz!
Can we compost ashes from the fireplace? A Sweet Briar Creek student ponders that very question.

What about nail clippings? Magazines? So much composting, so little time!
Green Smoothies Anyone?
What can we make that's tasty with all those beautiful green leaves?
Chard, strawberries, orange juice, and bananas make for a lovely concoction.
