Readying the Soil for Planting

The Temescalians helped pack the soil full of compost so we can plant our seeds in nutrient-rich beds next week!

Look what we found...

Thanks to Sweet Briar Creek for helping me harvest this weird wonder.

A Soil Investigation

This week we investigated the soil around the TBS campus. We wanted to know: What does it take to make a great soil? What is soil MADE of? Is our soil ready to house our seedlings?
The students of Laurel creek used magnifying glasses to check it out!

Visiting the Chaparral House

Part of gardening program this year will involve working with the Chaparral Home for seniors in their garden.

We made our first visit today. After playing a lovely game of pirates with the residents, we gave them terra cotta pots filled with sprouts for each of their rooms. It was great fun!

Inspiration for the growing season

Thanks for holding the baby, Brandt.
